On May 2nd, Idahoans will come together for a day of giving to support the nonprofits in communities across our state. From midnight -11:59pm a share of every dollar raised by Idaho nonprofits will be matched with funds from the Idaho Gives award pool. In addition, the top five organizations with the most unique donors (nonprofits are divided by size) will receive bonus grants of $3,000, $1,000, $500, $250, and $250 respectively.

MAY 1, 2013 AARP Driver’s Safety Class – 8:30am – 2:00pm
Driver’s Safety refresher class will be held at the Twin Falls Senior Center. The class is especially designed for drivers over age of 50. Class will help to reduce auto insurance premiums. Call Roy Killgore @ 732-5597 for information.
MAY 1, 2013 Chaparelle House Nutrition Presentation – What to Drink to keep Hydrated 11:30 am.
Presentation will be talking with seniors to inform them about the type of drinks needed to keep them hydrated during the coming summer months. This information helps you understand the different type of drink options available and what is best to help maintain a healthy overall diet. Presentation is presented by Debbie Williams of Chaparelle House of Twin Falls.
MAY 2, 2013 Idaho Gives - State Day of Giving to Non-Profits – Help Support the TF Senior Center
On May 2nd, Idahoans will come together for a day of giving to support the nonprofits in communities across our state. Computers will be available at the Twin Falls Senior Center to process donations and along with the media blitz on the radio, television, and having a special daylong event at the Magic Valley mall.

MAY 2, 2013 Hospice Vision - Grieving Introduction Class 10:00-11:00 am.
You may not know it, but you have had many losses in your life. You have lost family, friends, and pets. You may have lost a job or retired. You may have moved to a new area. You may be beginning to lose your health or independence. What is this process of grief and loss about? What is normal? How do you get through it? How do you find the strength to begin again? How do you make use of your friends and support network? Join us for an introduction to Grief and Loss on Thursday May 2 at 10 am. MAY 3, 2013 Incontinence Information Class – RN Cindy Anton – Hospice Visions 12:30 pm.
RN Cindy Anton from Hospice Visions will be discussing general nutrition, relaxation techniques, and exercises to improve bowel and bladder control. This class is to help individuals gain a better understand of the misconceptions and facts about the issue. Please let us help you or a family member understand the issue and the ways to help. MAY 7, 2013 Cribbage - 1:00 pm
Beginning on May 7, 13 the Twin Falls Senior Center is offering cribbage every Tuesday afternoon as a new activity. Cribbage is one of the earliest and most enduring of the Classic Card games. Cribbage is a card game for two to four players in which score is kept by inserting small pegs into holes arranged in rows on a small board. Lessons will be given for beginners. Anyone interested in playing can call Jeanette at the Center @ 734-5084. We welcome all ages to play.

If you or your spouse has a diagnosed vision problems, such as Glaucoma, Macular degeneration, or diabetes caused vision problems this meeting group is for you. The support group meets each month following the lunch at the Twin Falls Senior Center. The support group also guest experts and interesting speakers to help with education, peer counseling, independent living, as well as group discussions.
